Once the booking form has been completed and returned, Mirliny will send a booking approval and confirmation email after which all bookings are final and confirmed. Changes to the date of service will be accepted up to 10 days before the initial date of service, subject to availability. Cancellations or changes to the service date within 10 days of booking will incur a fee of up to 25% of the total booking fee. Cancellations within 48 hours incur a fee of up to 50% of the total booking fee. Please note that all NAIDOC week bookings are considered final once approval email has been received and no date change will be available.

Yarning sessions must be booked in advance using the website booking function where payment must be made in full. In the event that the yarning session cannot go ahead or minumum numbers have not been reached, all customers will be notified via their contact details and they will receive full refund of the booking fee.

Mirliny facilitators do not assume responsibility for the supervision of minors. Duty of care remains the responsibility of the attending teachers, parents, or guardians at all times.

We understand that events and incursions often run on their own time and sometimes planned schedules do not go according to plan. We allow a 30-minute window of flexibility for start time to ensure we work with your changing schedule. As we often have other engagements to attend, Mirliny will need to depart within 30 minutes of the agreed finish time unless previously negotiated. Full payment is still required to be made if services cannot be delivered due to event running off schedule.

If booking traditional dance, changing facilities for our dancers will be required. The preparation process involves getting ready as a group and painting each other, this requires a private space with enough room for dancers to move around, as such a toilet facility is not appropriate. Additionally, our clothes and belongings will need to be secured within this changing area. In the event that our items go missing or are stolen you will be liable for the cost of replacing those items.

If changing facilities are not available please inform us upon booking.

Please advise the best parking for your location in the booking form so that the cultural facilitators can get to you without parking delays.

If a Smoking Ceremony is to be conducted, please ensure there is parking as close to the ceremony location as possible. Facilitators will be carrying their materials and fire pit so ease of access is appreciated. 

NAIDOC week is the busiest time of year for us and as such we need to maintain strict  organisation and time keeping. All bookings made within NAIDOC week are considered final once the booking form has been received and approval has been sent via email from Mirliny. All cancellations of confirmed bookings for service dates within NAIDOC week incur a 50% cancellation fee unless they are within 48hrs of the service date and they will incur a 60% cancellation fee.

Please ensure that the correct invoicing details are entered into the booking form, invoices are generated upon booking and will be sent out on the day of service delivery unless otherwise requested. Please note that payment is to be made in full within 14 days of the service date. Payment can be made via bank transfer or via credit card (credit card payments incur a processing fee).

If supplier forms need to be completed, please email these forms once your booking has been approved.

Please note that as cultural men in the community, our facilitators may be called for ceremonial or cultural obligations with very short notice. In the event that an unforeseen circumstance arises and our facilitators are unable to fulfill their commitment to attend your event, Mirliny will seek to find a replacement to meet the booking requirements. In the event that no replacement can be made we will offer to rebook your service on another date. If no replacement date can be made, any pre-paid monies will be refunded to you. We appreciate your support and understanding with these matters.

Please ensure that you have considered the cultural safety of our facilitators when booking your event. Potential barriers to accessing the facility, scrutinising our equipment/instruments, repeated questioning or staff unfamiliar with our planned arrival can cause distress. Your support in ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for our team is requested. Additionally, all cultural services will be delivered at the discretion of our facilitators and in the most culturally appropriate way. Our cultural facilitators reserve the right to cease service delivery at any time if their cultural safety is compromised. No deductions to the fee will be made in the event that our cultural safety is compromised.
